Missionary Profile

Katharine provides a fun space where kids can engage with their Heavenly Father and His creation. She disciples young people to grow in their faith as they serve Jesus by caring for kids at InterVarsity Pioneer Camp Ontario. She loves watching kids experience the pure joy of camp and considers it a privilege to watch them realize how much God loves them. She enjoys coming alongside students as they are discovering their strengths and abilities and encourages them to keep the Lord first in their lives. Katharine is a true lifelong camper – having only missed nine summers of camp since birth (not including this past summer when camp was cancelled due to Covid-19). Her top hobby is eating ice cream. Her go-to bible verse is Psalm 34:18 (NIV): The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Katharine serves as the Adventure Camp Director, the site for children age 5 -10, as well as speaks into the Special Needs Program for both children and adults who need additional support to be integrated into the camp program. When Summer camp is not running she lives in Newmarket, ON with her husband Darrin and three sons Alexander, Sebastian and Theodore.
